Maximum Cents is now a little over 2 months old! The time has gone by fast and it’s kind of surprising that it’s only been two months. It seems like I’ve been doing this for much longer. I’ve really enjoyed interacting with the Personal Finance community and the comments from my readers. I love learning from other peoples’ perspectives!
I post my blog goals to update everyone on my progress and to hold myself accountable. Maximum Cents has become a lot of fun since it was first set up. I agree with Michelangelo that it’s important to set our goals high. Too many of us are guilty of setting easily achievable goals.
The stated mission of this website is to help people become debt free, grow their net worth, and achieve financial independence. I plan to do this by sharing fun ways to save money, analysis on different financial choices, and providing investing knowledge that I have gained over the last decade.
I am now going to list some blog goals for the upcoming month. I look forward to continuing to interact with the personal finance community and submitting interesting posts.
Pageviews Per Month
My goal for September was to get at least 1,000 pageviews. I’m happy to report that we exceeded that number at 1,542 pageviews! I don’t stress over this number since I believe it will continue to grow over time as I continue to post interesting content. My goal for October is 2,500 pageviews.
I am currently using Jetpack and WordPress to send notifications of new posts to my subscribers. As of this writing we have 12 subscribers! Thanks for joining. If you haven’t joined yet, now is a great time to start! My goal was to get to 20 subscribers, so this will extend to next month.
Including this entry, I have published 38 posts so far. I’ve found that it’s really challenging balancing my full time job along with my other commitments. I hope to continue to post at least 2 entries a week.
Check out my top posts of the past month:
Here is where I introduced myself on Rockstar Finance Forums: Hi from Jeff at Maximum Cents
I hope to continue to interact on the forum to learn more about the members and to share my story.
Twitter has been my favorite social meeting service for interacting with people. My goal was to have 50 followers by the end of September. I am happy to report that I have crushed that number with 196 followers.
My goal for next month is to reach 500 followers.
I haven’t had much time to use Pinterest. My goal was to learn more about the platform and how to best deliver my content.
I currently have 6 followers on Pinterest and have pinned 27 articles. I’m not planning on spending much time on Pinterest in the next month even though I know it has the potential to increase traffic to my site. I’m going to continue to focus on growing Twitter which is my main social media platform.
Facebook and Instagram
Maximum Cents has also joined Facebook and Instagram. I have 43 followers on Facebook and 62 followers on Instagram. I’m not going to set a number goal for Facebook or Instagram. My goal is to continue to post my content on these platforms and interact with people there.
These first two months have gone by really fast and have been a lot of fun. After thinking about starting a personal finance blog for quite some time, I’m glad I finally stopped procrastinating. I was inspired to start a blog by Sam at Financial Samurai.
I am excited to share my knowledge and experience with people so they can achieve better financial outcomes.
I hope you can learn from my mistakes and my successes so that you can attain maximum cents!
