It’s been about 3 weeks since I launched Maximum Cents and I keep realizing that there is so much to learn. I have set up my first domain, played around with WordPress, and purchased the Genesis theme from StudioPress. A lot of my time has gone towards setting up the appearance of the site, installing plugins, and learning about CSS code. We have also joined Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest!
The stated mission of this website is to help people maximize their net worth. I plan to do this by sharing fun ways to save money, analysis on different financial choices, and investing knowledge that I have gained over the last decade.
I am now going to list some blog goals for the upcoming month. I look forward to getting to know the personal finance community and submitting interesting posts.
Pageviews Per Month
Since inception, this site has received 535 pageviews. My goal for September is to get at least 1,000 pageviews. I’m a bit overwhelmed with the hundreds of thousands of pageviews that so many blogs get every month. I hope that by providing compelling content this number will continue to grow over time.
I am currently using Jetpack to send email notifications to my subscribers. As of this writing we have 9 subscribers! Thanks for joining. I just spent about an hour figuring out how to add a subscribe form to the end of my posts. If you haven’t joined yet, now is a great time to start! I would like to get to 20 subscribers by next month.
Including this entry, I have published 15 posts so far. I am happy with this number considering all of the set up time, my full time job, and a week of vacation in between.
I have a long list of ideas for future posts and I hope to be inspired by my readers’ comments. My goal is to submit at least 2 entries per week.
Maximum Cents is now registered for the Rockstar Finance Directory and the Rockstar Finance Forum. I have been interacting with both established and new bloggers and the community is very supportive! I hope to continue to interact on the forum to learn more about the members and to share my story.
I currently have 12 followers on Twitter and have sent out 45 Tweets. I hope to have 50 followers by the end of next month.
I currently have 4 followers on Pinterest and have pinned 5 articles. Admittedly, I am not too savvy on Pinterest. My goal is to learn more about the platform and how to best deliver my content.
After thinking about starting a personal finance blog for quite some time, I’m glad I finally stopped procrastinating. I really want to share my knowledge and experience with people so they can achieve better financial outcomes. There is so much opportunity nowadays. There is no better time to start than now!
